Plans are already underway for this year’s carnival week. The dates have been set - Saturday June 30th to Sunday 8th and the theme chosen for this year is ‘Our Favourite Songs’ which we hope will give everyone plenty of scope for ideas for the Carnival procession and make the entries as vibrant and exciting as last year.

Many of the old favourites events will be happening throughout the week along with several new events. Details later.

The venue for this year’s Fete is unchanged – it will be in the Jubilee Field, but what will change is the entrance fee. We put the price up last year hoping to raise more money for Sway Organisations but many of you felt that the cost was too high, and as a result of listening to you, we have decided that this year there will be no set charge – we will ask for donations. We hope this will be better for all of you whilst still raising money for Sway Organisations.

Sadly, the Goughs are taking a much-deserved retirement. We are very indebted to them for all their hard work and enthusiasm running the Dog Show at the Fete. They will be sorely missed, but we are hoping that we will be able to find someone else who will run the dog show. Fingers crossed.

Finally, we are very pleased to welcome four new members to our committee and already they are bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the meetings.
