  • Drama and Disco

    A big thank you to Hazel Gibbs and the drama team for another successful carnival production, 3 very witty short plays, enjoyed on both nights by a packed house.

    This afternoon, 4-6pm its time for the kids to get their finest on and impress with dancing skills at the childrens disco.  All sorts of fun and games as well. Ticket price (£2) includes free hot dog and tea cakes and refreshments available.  Have FUN!

  • Carnival So Far!

    The sun continues to shine down on Sway, hopefully it will continue for the rest of the Carnival week

    Friday saw the Walking Treasure Hunt, the start and finish kindly being hosted by the Hare and Hounds - many thanks to Brendan, Julia and the Team for letting us pitch up on the front patio.

    The winners of the Treasure Hunt were:-

    1. 1st - Second Best
    2. 2nd - The Snowths
    3. 3rd - A Couple of Donuts

    Saturday saw the return of the Sway Boule, hosted by the wonderful team at Gracewell, an afternoon of family fun and rivalry as teams fought it out for the famous Sway Tower Trophy.

    Congratulations to the winners Nick Woodfine and Martin Naylor, and runners up Andy Goplen and Gill Rose.

    And a big thank you to Gracewell for lovely teas, cakes and Pimms.

    Today we have been up on Wilverley Plain for the childrens and adults fun runs, both runs were on new routes this year and proved very popular. 

    Hopefully everyones is now enjoying the family entertainment at Stanford Rise Green, and for this evening, there are still tickets available for tonights Drama production, payable on the door £6 (includes a drink).

  • Carnival starts today!

    The Carnival starts today... Come and join us for the first event.

    A walking treasure hunt around Sway - Starts from the Hare and Hounds, 5.30 - 6.30pm Entry £1.50 per adult. Solve the puzzles from a number of clues as you wander around the village, then return to the Hare & Hounds for a well earned drink or food. 

    Make sure your scarecrow is in place ready for judging.

    Scarecrow location maps are on sale at tonights Walking Treasure Hunt and from the newsagents from tomorrow  £1. Find your favorite and vote using the location map.

    And, don't forget your sun cream and hat when out and about!
